Magic Mission’s Luncheon of Love and Solidarity 2017
Since 2012, Magic Mission supports Greece’s institutions whose main aim is to help children, from infants to 18 year olds. Their motto “No child should be left hungry” is the driving force for a constant quest for humanity, love and solidarity with the children of Greece. They incessantly send to Greece containers full of food, clothing, medication, toys, baby food and other items that these organisations need.
Magic Mission’s “Love and Solidarity Luncheon” whose aim was to raise funds to benefit 50 organisations and institutions throughout Greece, was held at the Hellenic Community Centre Adrian Maris, on Sunday, November 10, 2017.
It was an event with plenty of good food and entertainment, but most of all, full of love, compassion and humanity. Over 500 members of our proud paroikia attended the event. Among them, the Very Reverend Demetre Antonopoulos, His Excellency Ambassador of Cyprus in Canada Pavlos Anastasiadis, the Honourable General Consul of Greece in Montreal Nicholaos Sigalas, City Councilor of Montreal Mary Deros, City Councilors of Laval Aglaia Revelakis and Vassilios Karydogiannis, Hellenic Congress of Quebec President John Theodosopoulos, HCGM President Nicholas Pagonis, President of the HCGM Fundraising Committee Tassos Xipolitakis, President of Filia Association Joanna Tsoubleka, and many others.
A few noteworthy statistics: Over $20,000 was raised from sponsorships for the commemorative album of the event. Furthermore, the Tsiolis Foundation donated food products (rice, beans, lentils, oil) of a total value of $70,000. The official financial report will be published shortly.
On behalf of all the organisations benefiting from this and other Magic Mission events, the President of the Committee Vrysiis Mavrou Paidousis would like to express their gratitude to all individuals, volunteers, businesses, and sponsors for their support.
