When an employee is hired and when a volunteer is approved to work for HSSQ, they are asked to read and sign a privacy and confidentiality policy, in order to protect the interests of all parties involved, as well as the clients and beneficiaries that we serve and help to protect.

Any information identifying an individual or contained in the client’s file is considered personal and strictly confidential information. The Hellenic Social Services of Quebec, of the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal, must respect and protect the confidentiality of personal information. This obligation comes from the right to privacy recognised by the Quebec Charter and the Quebec Civil Code. In addition, all employees and volunteers who work for HSSQ must adhere to that obligation.

In addition to signing this confidentiality form which is a promise to respect the confidentiality and privacy of clients, article 7.2 of our by-laws outlines a very elaborate code of ethics governing employees and Board of Directors when carrying out their duties with clients or between colleagues and all members of the team within the organisation, to treat everyone with dignity and respect and to adhere to the rules and regulations of the corporation.
