Changes at the HCGM Fundraising Committee: Tassos Xipolitakis leaves; Stavros Tsinalis takes over
In a meeting held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, with the members of the HCGM Fundraising Committee, President Tassos Xipolitakis, after having expressed his gratitude to all for their excellent cooperation during his leadership, he announced he would step down from his position.
Some highlights from Mr. Xipolitakis’ speech: “We are very proud of the HCGM Fundraising Committee. I want to thank all of you for your support, considering the pressure and the demands of this Committee. Only to mention that during 2017-2018, we offered $290,000 for school expenses. I also wish to express my gratitude to the HCGM President Nicholas Pagonis, the HCGM Members of the Board of Directors and the HCGM employees for their support. I would also like to thank all those who participated in our events to support us with their presence and their donations”.
Fundraising Committee members thanked Mr. Xipolitakis for his services and his exceptional efforts. Afterwards, they elected Stavros Tsinalis to become the new President, who until then was the Committee’s Vice-President.
The new President Stavros Tsinalis has served as a volunteer for over four decades, especially in the field of education. We asked Mr. Tsinalis if he is going to change anything as far as the Fundraising Committee goals are concerned: “Our goals remain the same that is to support as much as possible our schools, these stunning and literally, unique schools. We will continue taking initiatives to improve participation of the Greek community, and the Committee’s revenue to cover the financial needs of our schools.”
–What is the next fundraising plan of the Committee?
–It’s the annual TeleMarathon, which will be broadcasted Canada-wide in mid-November, inviting Hellenism to help and support our schools.
