GENERAL COMMENTS:
The Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal (HCGM) encompasses the
Community’s schools, churches, social services, cultural institute, community and
sport centres within the territory of metropolitan Montreal, including Laval,
Montreal, and the South Shore. The main administrative functions are located at
Head Office on Wilderton Ave, Montreal.

ORGANISATION:
The position of Director of Public Relations and Marketing reports directly to
Executive Director who in turn is responsible to the Executive Committee of the
HCGM. Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of HCGM,
responsible for the planning, development and implementation of all of the HCGM’s
marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities,
both external and internal. The Director of Public Relations works closely with the
Executive Director and the BOD members responsible for Public Relations and
Marketing.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include, but not limited to:
 Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a
comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations programme,
including but not limited to, publications, media relations, newsletters, brochures,
and the HCGM’s Website, that will enhance the HCGM’s image and position within
its membership and the general public, and facilitate internal and external
communications.
 Coordinate the appearance of all HCGM print and electronic materials such as
letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc…
 Ensure articulation of the HCGM’s desired image and position, assure consistent
communication of image and position throughout the Organisation, and assure
communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and
external.
 Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all HCGM
publications.
 Coordinate media interest in the HCGM and ensure regular contact with target
media and appropriate response to media requests.
 Act as the HCGM’s representative with the media, and manage all media contacts.
 Develop, coordinate and oversee programmes, technical assistance and resource
materials to assist Departments and Services in the marketing, communications
and positioning of their activities.
 Provide counsel to Departments and Services on marketing, communications and
public relations.
 Lead projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events.
 Responsible for re-developing and maintaining the HCGM website as to take into
account the needs of the HCGM’s Departments and Services.
 Responsible for developing and maintaining all social media strategies as to
enhance the HCGM image and to communicate all HCGM messages and events to
target market.
 Develop and maintain a monthly electronic HCGM newsletter along with additional
outlets of communications to expand the subscriber base above and beyond
current HCGM membership.
 Develop cause-marketing relationships and sponsorship relationships which will
benefit the HCGM and all its Departments and Services.
 Other related duties as required and/or assigned by the HCGM Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of
marketing, communications and public relations activities.
 Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organisational and personal sales skills.
 Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations
and negotiating with media.
 Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and
publications.
 Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout.
 Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills in Greek and English or
French (with second official language an asset).
 Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including
staff, board members, volunteers, donors, programme participants, and other
supporters
 Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
 Experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated
success, preferably in the not-for-profit, association or related sector.
 University degree in a related field preferred.
 Knowledge and experience in the production of audiovisual content along with
skills in photography and photo editing software.
 Knowledge and experience of social media, along with Website development and
design an asset.
 Programming and designing skills an asset.
 Available for flexible hours, if required, and willing to work on weekends if
necessary.
 Experience working with volunteers is desirable.
 Sensitive to customer service, discreet, and communicative.
