Κουράγιο Ελλάδα/Courage Greece: Souvlaki Fundraiser for the Fire Victims in Greece
This Sunday, August 15, is one of the most significant celebrations of the Greek Orthodox Faith, the day of Koimisis tis Theotokou (the Dormition of our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos). It is both appropriate and necessary for us to celebrate this day by reaching out with love and compassion to those that have lost so much.
Towards that end, the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal will be organizing Κουράγιο Ελλάδα/Courage Greece: Souvlaki Fundraiser for the Fire Victims in Greece, this Sunday, August 15 from 12 PM to 9 PM on the grounds of Evangelismos tis Theotokou church.
All proceeds from this event will be donated to recognized and reputable charities in Greece that are supporting those effected by the wildfires there. We will announce how the funds will be distributed as soon as possible after the event.
There will be small menu of souvlaki (pork and chicken), loukaniko, tzatziki, beer, soft drinks and water. While this is primarily a takeout event, we will have some seating available for those that wish to dine on site.
