Children First. We Can. – Cocktail Dinatoire
On Thursday, May 11, 2017, the “Children First. We can.” initiative of the Honourable Senator Leo Housakos and the RBC Vice-Chairman in wealth management, Tony Loffreda, which was held at the Palace Reception Hall was a great success. The amount collected was $216,000 and donated equally to the two exceptional institutions; École “Socrates-Démosthène” and Giant Steps.
The hall was filled to its capacity with prominent members of the Hellenic community, businessmen and members of voluntary organisations and networks.
Keynote speaker of the event was the Honourable Senator, Leo Housakos, who cordially thanked everyone in the room as well as everyone who donated and contributed to this cause. RBC Vice-Chairman Tony Loffreda, could not be there due to professional commitments in Israel, however he sent a video message thanking all the donors and attendees.
HCGM President, Nicholas Pagonis and Giant Steps President, Nick Katalifos, spoke about the quality of education that is being provided in their schools, and they both graciously accepted a cheque of $108,000 for each institution.

MNA for Laurier-Dorion, Gerry Sklavounos, made a brief speech on the importance of fundraising efforts, and the need for the continuation of support for these two unique schools.
