A Message from the President – December 2016
The Holidays are upon us and this last month of the year has brought us some significant developments.
Given the fact that the scheduled General Meeting of December 4, 2016, had no quorum and in accordance with the HCGM bylaws, the new date is Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 13:30. It is not only a right, but also a privilege for all members, to attend and vote regarding our Community’s new fiscal year’s budget.
The HCGM Laval Regional Council has organised a New Year’s Eve Reveillon, at the Holy Cross Church, giving us the opportunity to celebrate alongside with friends and family. Let us mark the countdown to the New Year together, and celebrate the start of 2017.
Reading Mrs. Eugenia Kristen Kokolakis testimony, regarding École “Socrates-Démosthène” student experience, we appreciate the exceptional work produced by our School’s teachers and administrators, which guides our students to excellence.
The Christmas season can be a difficult time of the year for some and, as always, the HCGM Social Services, will offer their valuable assistance to those in need. By launching the Holiday Season campaign, HSSQ aims to help families who are experiencing hardships during the holidays so they may have food necessities and services that they need. I encourage each one of you to participate and contribute to the cause.
The reconstruction of our Koimisis tis Theotokou Church is in progress and we will continue to inform you as the work advances. As you can easily ascertain by the pictures, the project evolves as planned and the timeline remains.
The “In lieu of flowers” project has been in full effect, at our Churches. We kindly request that, you consider and suggest to family and friends to donate in lieu of flowers, to the HCGM. All donations benefit the Churches, Schools, the Hellenic Social Services, and the Community as a whole.
Finally, on a joyful note, the HCGM President, along with the members of the Board of Directors, will be offering a special Christmas Day Luncheon at no charge, on December 25th, at the Hellenic Community Centre Adrian Maris, for those who would like to celebrate Christmas with us.
Warm wishes to everyone for a Merry Christmas!
May His love shine upon your family at Christmas and always…
Sincerely,
Nicholas T. Pagonis
President
